Used for many years in cosmetology, Retinol is an effective molecule which has multiple, scientifically proven benefits for the skin.
Retinol has a huge number of proven properties to efficaciously act on skin’s various problems, and its efficacy in treating the signs of ageing has been confirmed in histological and clinical studies. Especially acknowledged for its powerful anti-wrinkle action, Retinol is acknowledged today by dermatologists for its undisputed efficiency to reduce skin ageing signs.
However, Retinol is an active ingredient difficult to stabilise due to its sensitivity to light, to oxygen and also to heat. Over the past 25 years, RoC® has continuously innovated on this molecule, leading to targeted effectiveness and a greater tolerance. These research efforts have ultimately led to better stability for Retinol and an optimisation of its penetration into the skin. More than 10 years of research by the RoC® laboratories have led us to achieve, in the 1990s, the stabilisation of Retinol, which enabled its integration into cosmetic products. Our RoC® scientific experts have also succeeded in boosting the activity of Retinol by associating it to a new patented molecule, the dihydroxmethylychromone. This has allowed the reduction in concentration of Retinol in cosmetic products and the improvement of their tolerance (necessary for long-term use), whilst maintaining its effectiveness.
Retinol helps to reduce the signs of skin ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, whilst improving the complexion, the radiance and the elasticity of the skin.
